The Five Books may use members' personal information for the following purposes: · To provide and operate the Service · For promotional activities related to the Service and other services operated by The Five Books · To send notices and information about the Service and related services to members · To verify and authenticate members' identities · To respond to inquiries · To investigate and verify content usage and to plan, develop, and promote new content · To develop new services and features · To maintain and improve systems and address defects · For other purposes incidental to the above The Five Books may change the purposes of use within a scope reasonably deemed to have relevance, and will notify or announce such changes to members.

Article 3: Restrictions on Use of Personal Information

Except as permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other laws, The Five Books will not handle personal information beyond what is necessary to achieve the purposes of use without the member's consent. However, this does not apply in the following cases: · When required by law · When necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property and it is difficult to obtain the member's consent · When particularly necessary to improve public health or promote the sound development of children · When necessary to cooperate with a national or local government agency in performing duties prescribed by law

Article 4: Proper Acquisition of Personal Information

The Five Books will acquire personal information properly and will not acquire it through deceptive or other improper means.

Article 5: Security Management of Personal Information

The Five Books will exercise necessary and appropriate supervision to ensure the security management of personal information against risks such as loss, destruction, falsification, and leakage. However, the following cases do not constitute provision to third parties: · When The Five Books entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information to a third party within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use · When personal information is provided in connection with a business succession due to a merger or other reason · When jointly used in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information · When otherwise permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other laws

Article 7: Suspension of Use of Personal Information

If a member requests the suspension or deletion of use of their personal information on the grounds that it is being handled beyond the scope of the stated purposes or that it was obtained through improper means, and The Five Books finds that the request is justified, it will confirm that the request is from the member themselves and promptly suspend use of the personal information, notifying the member accordingly.

Article 8: Use of Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Five Books may use cookies and similar technologies. These technologies help us understand lecture usage and contribute to service improvement. Members who wish to disable cookies may do so by changing their web browser settings. However, disabling cookies may prevent the use of some features of The Five Books' services. These technologies will not be used to collect personal information that the member has not entered.

Article 9: Security

Member information is protected by passwords for the privacy and security of members. The Five Books uses industry-standard SSL encryption to protect data transmission when necessary.
